Is there a minimum order for delivery?

Yes. Our minimum order value is £80.

How long does firewood delivery take?

We usually deliver within five working days. Delivery timing can vary during busy cold-weather periods, so ordering ahead is recommended where possible.

Do you offer a log-stacking service?

Yes. We can offer a stacking service to help get your logs neatly stored in your log store, garage, shed, or other suitable space. Select the stacking option when ordering where available, and make sure we know about any access considerations in advance.

Are your logs ready to burn?

Yes. Our kiln-dried logs have a moisture content below 20%, making them suitable for efficient, cleaner burning in wood-burning stoves, fireplaces, and outdoor fires.

What is the difference between hardwood, softwood and mixed-species logs?

Hardwood logs usually burn more slowly and are a popular choice for long-lasting heat. Softwood logs light easily and burn quickly, making them useful for getting a fire established.

Our mixed-species logs are not simply a mix of hardwood and softwood. They are good-burning logs from a range of lesser-known timber species, offering dependable heat and excellent value for everyday use.

Which logs are best for a wood-burning stove?

For long, steady heat, kiln-dried hardwood is usually the best choice. For quicker lighting and a lively flame, softwood can work well. Mixed-species logs are an excellent lower-cost everyday option. Whichever you choose, always use dry logs with a moisture content of 20% or below.

How much firewood do I need?

That depends on how often you use your stove or fire, your storage space, and whether it is your main heat source. Smaller bags are useful for occasional fires or limited storage, while bulk bags offer better value for regular users. We are happy to help you choose a suitable quantity.

How should I store my logs?

Keep logs outdoors in a dry, well-ventilated place. Raise them off the ground where possible and cover the top to protect them from rain, leaving the sides open for airflow. A purpose-built log store, shed with ventilation, or covered side area works well.

Can I store logs indoors?

A small amount of firewood can be kept indoors for immediate use, but larger quantities are best stored outside in a dry, ventilated space. This helps keep the logs in the best condition and avoids bringing unnecessary debris or insects indoors.

Why should I avoid burning wet wood?

Wet wood gives off less heat, creates more smoke, and can lead to soot and tar build-up in your stove or chimney. Dry logs burn more efficiently, are easier to light, and provide better heat for the amount of wood used.

Do I need kindling and firelighters?

Kindling and firelighters make lighting a stove or fire much easier, especially from cold. Start with a firelighter and dry kindling, then add small logs before building up to larger pieces of firewood.

Will the logs fit my stove?

We aim to keep log sizes around the dimensions specified on the product pages. However log sizes can vary naturally by species and batch. Before ordering, check your stove manufacturer’s guidance and measure the maximum log length your stove can accept. If you have a smaller stove or a specific requirement, contact us before placing your order.

What should I tell you about access for delivery?

Please let us know in advance about narrow drives, steep access, steps, gates, limited turning space, or where you would like the logs left. Good access information helps us make delivery smoother and lets us advise whether stacking is suitable.

Do you supply firewood for businesses?

Yes. We can help supply firewood for holiday lets, pubs, restaurants, campsites, estates, and other local businesses. Contact Blaze Firewood to discuss quantities, delivery requirements, and repeat orders.
